Privacy and security update: no more email addresses, and tighter access checks

Privacy

• ProjectClone Pro no longer reads, logs or stores users' email addresses or display names.
• Removed the "View email addresses of all users" permission, so the app now requests fewer permissions.
• App logs contain Atlassian account IDs only.
• The app no longer keeps a record of each visit.

Security

• App access is now checked again on every copy action: viewing, reviewing, rechecking, cancelling or reopening a running copy. A user whose access was removed on the Permissions page can no longer act on a copy they started earlier.
• Tightened the user and group lookups used for access checks.
• Verified with Atlassian's Forge security scanner.

Updating

• Because a permission changed, this is a major update from 3.1.0. The app now requests fewer permissions than before, not more.

• A redesigned interface with Clone project, Copy tickets and Copy from another site on one page inside Jira.
• Live step-by-step progress with time remaining, and a clear Cancel copy button.
• Guided tours for first-time users.

Clone projects

• Create a project from any company-managed project, reusing its schemes.
• Swap individual schemes and choose a new project lead.
• Copy components, project roles, boards, sprints and tickets.

Copy tickets

• Copy tickets with fields, status, comments, attachments, watchers, sub-tasks, links and versions.
• Copy into a new or an existing project.
• Pre-copy review to resolve mismatched issue types, statuses, fields and users.
• Background copying with live progress, cancel and resume.

Copy from another site

• Pair Jira Cloud sites with a one-time code.
• Read-only connections; the source admin picks which projects are shared.

Admin tools

• Permissions page to choose which users and groups can use the app.
• Logs page with 90 days of job history, job IDs and CSV export.

Licensing

• ProjectClone Pro is a paid app with a free trial; every feature is included with an active subscription.
